RSA Dance Company
RSA Dance Company is a vibrant and inclusive extra-curricular dance group that meets weekly to create and develop performance work. Students work collaboratively with the Dance Teacher, contributing ideas and choreography to create original pieces that are showcased in the annual RSA Dance Show.
The company also applies to perform at the prestigious U.Dance Mass Movement Festival held at the Curve Theatre in Leicester. We are proud to have been selected year after year to represent our region, providing our students with the opportunity to perform on a professional stage and demonstrate the exceptional standard of dance at the academy.
Students can join RSA Dance Company from Year 7 and continue throughout their school journey. As members of the company, students develop their choreography skills, creativity, teamwork, and confidence in performance. The company provides a supportive environment where dancers can grow artistically, challenge themselves, and share their passion for dance with others.
The students can demonstrate significant personal development through their involvement in dance. Participation in dance helps to build their confidence, resilience, and self-discipline, whilst encouraging creativity and self-expression. Through rehearsals, performances, and collaborative work with peers, students develop strong communication and collaboration skills. Dance has also supported their ability to accept feedback constructively, set personal goals, and work persistently to achieve them.
