Year 9 Excitement

Over the course of Year 9, students will be able to build on the foundations they have acquired and become more independent and creative in their use of language. Students will be able to transfer vocabulary and structures to new contexts and refer to events in three time frames (past, present and future). There will be a continued focus throughout on:

  • Linguistic Competence
  • Application of grammar
  • Language learning skills

GCSE Skills

 

Years 10 and 11 Expertise

Over the course of Years 10 and 11, students will hone their languages skills to produce longer pieces of writing showing off a range of topic-specific vocabulary and a variety of more complex structures. They will be able to use tenses with increased accuracy. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the tasks set in the GCSE exam in all four skills, so they are well equipped to tackle them with confidence.
