Years 7 and 8 Exploration
Learning a new language is exciting and rewarding. Throughout Year 7, we will develop learning language skills. We will offer a range of activities to allow students to understand the mechanics of the language they are studying but also allowing students to make connections with their own language. Students will also be able to reflect on cultural differences looking at a typical school day in another country for example. Phonics will be prominent, allowing students to acquire a good accent. There will be a focus throughout on:

- Language learning skills
- Cultural awareness

GCSE Skills
Years 10 and 11 Expertise
Over the course of Years 10 and 11, students will hone their languages skills to produce longer pieces of writing showing off a range of topic-specific vocabulary and a variety of more complex structures. They will be able to use tenses with increased accuracy. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the tasks set in the GCSE exam in all four skills, so they are well equipped to tackle them with confidence.
